Tim Hammond

I earned a degree in Biology from UNC-Chapel Hill and went on to do my Ph.D. at George Washington University in the lab of Dr. Vittorio Gallo. There I investigated the signaling mechanisms that regulate oligodendrocyte progenitor cell differentiation and remyelination in demyelinating diseases. In Dr. Stevens’ lab I am investigating the role of microglia in early brain development, and whether disruptions to microglia function underlie neurodevelopmental disorders like Autism and Schizophrenia.
